                       Medical transcription is a process where medical records are transcribed from audio recordings made by healthcare professionals. The transcribed records are then used by healthcare facilities to make patient care decisions. Medical transcriptionists listen to audio recordings and type out the information contained within the recordings, including diagnoses, treatments, and patient histories.  



                The primary role of a Medical Transcriptionist is to listen to audio recordings of physician dictations and transcribe them into written documents to be used for patient medical records. This includes patient histories, physical examinations, diagnostic test results, progress notes, operative reports, and discharge summaries. 

               Medical Transcriptionists must also possess strong knowledge of medical terminology and be able to accurately interpret and transcribe medical jargon. They must also be familiar with the technology and medical software used to record and store patient records. 

                In addition to providing medical transcription services, Medical Transcriptionists may also be responsible for proofreading and editing the written documents, ensuring they are accurate and meet the required standards. They may also be expected to assist with administrative duties such as filing and scheduling patient appointments.
